Dear Colleagues, If there is anyone out there who is a selector for theater materials and/or whose domain in the library includes performing arts (as well as fine arts and/or architecture), please contact me off list. I am seeking insights from other reference/instructional librarians who have studio art/art history/architecture backgrounds, but also cover performing arts (specifically theater and dance). Also, does anyone know of a list serv for performing arts librarians? It just occurred to me that this might be a good topic for a "what you weren't taught in library school session," at the annual conference, in other words, how to go about selecting and instructing in the areas of music and/or the performing arts as a "traditional" art/architecture librarian.
