Southwestern University and The Sarofim School of Fine Arts invites
applications for the position of Head Slide Librarian in the Department of
Art.  This is a full-time position with benefits.  Responsibilities include
general liaison activities to the art department faculty; organization and
maintenance of the slide collection in collaboration with art history and
studio faculty; equipment maintenance; ordering materials and supplies;
budget administration; and supervision of student staff.  Qualifications:
Applicants must have a broad knowledge of the history of art and training in
library science.  The ideal candidates will have a BA in art history and MA
in library science or MA in art history and previous slide library
experience.  Applicants should also have experience in managing active slide
collections in both analog and digital formats; competency in online
cataloging and digital imaging technologies; and possess the ability to
utilize photographic equipment (camera, copy stand) in order to make slides.
