Librarian – Technical Services Emphasis
The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago, a growing applied art and design
college with degree programs in Multimedia / Web Design, Visual
Communications, Fashion Design & Marketing, Media Arts Animation, Interior
Design, Game Art and Design, Digital Media Production, and Culinary Arts, is
seeking a Librarian with Technical Services emphasis. Primary
responsibilities include cataloging, serials management, database management
and supervision of post-cataloging technical services. Multifaceted
responsibilities may also include Public Services, training, supervision of
circulation, and project management.
Qualifications include an ALA –accredited MLS or MLIS, an art background,
and previous library experience. Candidate must have knowledge of OCLC,
AACR2R, MARC, LC classification and online resources.
We are looking for candidates who have excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, initiative, strong service orientation and flexibility
in prioritizing and managing time. Must be flexible for days, evenings and
weekend hours.
