Can anyone suggest another avenue to try for this? I found some images on Google but they look more recent (student is checking now). I found nothing in BHA,; articles in AFT and Lexis-Nexis are too recent. Tried our catalog and that of the University of California system without success. Edith L. Sergei Isupov Education: -1982 Ukrainian State Art School, Kiev -1990 Art Institute of Tallin, Estonia, B.A./M.F. A. Ceramics Isupov in 1990 was invited by the Ukrainian minster of culture to do an installation at the Ukrainian National Artist Union Exhibition Hall in Kiev.It never officially opened because of the depiction of nudes on cubes. Nevertheless it was a critical success. Later it was shown at the Soviet National Artist Union Exhibition Hall in Tallinn, Estonia where the Estonian minister of culture awarded Isupov the, "Best Young Artist Under 30 Prize" Could you help find a picture of this earlier artwork? A picture of this controversial installation would be a GREAT addition to my slide/oral and written presentation. In 1990,&1992 (before he emigrates) there are four exhibitions that also might have pictures of his early work: 1990 New Soviet Art, Fourth Dimension Gallery, San Francisco, CA (I'll try again these people) USSR Ceramists, Charity Exposition, Hammer Center, Moscow Oslo International Ceramics Symposium, Norway 1992 Eastern European Ceramics, The Clay Studio, Philadelphia, PA Traveling USA (If other earlier pictures exist I'll need to make slides before next Wednesday) __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
