Dear Colleagues: The Checkpoint Charlie Foundation is sponsoring a study tour of German art and special libraries. The dates are September 28-October 12, 2003, and the itinerary includes libraries in Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Weimar, Gotha, Wittenberg, Halle, Leipzig, and Berlin, with stops in several other places. The Checkpoint Charlie Foundation is a Berlin-based organization which funds projects that foster German-American relations. The support includes ground transportation and lodging (not transatlantic transport or meals). The meeting ends just before the Frankfurt Book Fair and a few days before the fall meeting of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Kunst- und Museumsbibliotheken which will be in Dresden on the theme "doing more with less" (October 17-18; registration fee of 140 Euros). If you are interested, or wish a more detailed itinerary, please contact Evelin Morgenstern, of the Initiative Fortbildung fur wissenschaftliche Spezialbibliotheken und verwandte Einrichtungen e.V. - c/o Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin (Fax: (+49) 30 8 33 44 78; or email [log in to unmask] I also have a detailed copy of the itinerary which I can send as an attachment.
