Dear Collective Wisdom,
A faculty member recalls an article about the subject of urinating putti
that was dated from around the 1940s. A search of Art Index and BHA
with all of the possible permutations has yielded nothing. Does anyone
recall such an article or publication? Failing that, would anyone know
the proper iconographic term? (AAT didn't help). AND... does anyone
know of any instances of this motif in ROMAN sculpture?
I thank you in advance for any information that you might be able to
provide.
