The Modern History and Literature program at Drew University announces a public lecture: BARBARA HOCHMAN will speak on VISUAL POWER IN UNCLE TOM'S CABIN 1850-1890: ILLUSTRATIONS IN HISTORY Friday, March 28, at 5 pm Learning Center 28 Drew University, Madison, NJ Prof. Hochman teaches literature at Ben Gurion University in Israel. She has published widely on nineteenth- and twentieth-century American literature. Her most recent book is "Getting at the Author: Reimagining Books and Reading in the Age of American Realism" (University of Massachusetts Press).
