John Sanderson Dalziel (wood engraver) came to the United States in 1869 and settled in Philadelphia. It has been said that while in school he met Charles Dickens and the two were life-long friends. Can anyone shed some light on this connection? J. S. Dalziel engraved some work by F.O.C. Darley, subject of my research. John Sanderson Dalziel was the nephew of John, Edward and George, the Brothers Dalziel. I am interested, also, in locating original 19th century woodblocks of work by F.O. C. Darley.
