In January I asked if anyone could recommend a source where we could have library book plates made. We have been using the same book plate since 1927 in a very attractive, two-color, Arts & Crafts style and we wanted to duplicate this in an acid-free, self-adhesive book plate. I was unable to find a printer locally who could meet our requirements and so turned to the List. I received a lot of recommendations and I thank everyone for responding. I am sorry that it has taken me so long to acknowledge your help, but I wanted to wait until I had definite information to share. I would, especially, like to thank Kathleen L. List, the Director of Library Services of the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota. Kathleen not only gave me the name of a source, but also mailed me samples of the book plates done by this firm, as well as her most recent invoice!! This recommendation has proved to be the one we contracted with to print our new book plates and we are very pleased indeed with the results. The company created the digital artwork, and supplied 5,000 book plates at a cost, excluding shipping, for $593.00 The company is: Coastal Printing, 1730 Independence Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34234. Tel: 941-1515. Fax: 941-351-8639. The Account Representative is Craig Hawkins and his email is: [log in to unmask] Again, my sincere thanks -- "mahalo" in Hawaiian -- to all of you.
