The High Peformance Index
joins The Artforum Index (vol. 1 through vol. 7, number 4; June
1962 through 1968) as an entirely free resource at
http://www.mcgilvery.com. Simple instructions for linking from your
catalogue entries or reference lists are available on the
site.
This index to over two-thirds of the
issues of High Performance magazine has three sources.
Cumulative indexes for numbers 1-32 (February 1978 through 1985) and
numbers 33-40 (1986-87) appeared in numbers 41/42 (Spring/Summer
1988). These printed versions were scanned, using advanced
character-recognition software, and then proofed carefully.
Nevertheless, errors undoubtedly remain, and we welcome
corrections.
The index for numbers 58/59 through
69/70 (Summer/Fall 1992 through Spring-Summer 1995) was prepared for
the publishers' own internal use. Steven Durland graciously supplied
it for this purpose in digital format. Because of significant
differences in style and format between these three segments, we have
maintained them as separate files.
Numbers 41/42 through 57
(Spring/Summer 1998 through Spring 1992) and numbers 71 through 76
(Spring 1996 through Fall 1997) are not yet available. When our own
full index is finished, it will supplant all of the above entirely. In
the meanwhile, we hope this partial, interim version will prove
helpful to librarians, researchers, and students.
I look forward to seeing many of you
at the conference in Baltimore. Please ask for our new, specially
prepared catalogue of out-of-print art books, exhibition catalogues,
and periodicals.
