The Lois Swan Jones award committee of ARLIS/Texas-Mexico is delighted to announce this year's recipient: Mary Leonard, Associate Librarian of the Dallas Museum of Art. Mary will be attending her third national conference; this time her expenses will be underwritten by the generosity of her Texas-Mexico colleagues-especially the largesse of Phil Heagey, who donated his entire honorarium as ARLIS/NA Treasurer. Mary also attends this time as the Chapter's President-Elect. She had volunteered to help the Baltimore local arrangements committee, and will be joining Jon Evans, Chapter President, at the annual leadership breakfast during the conference. Mary's attendance surely will reflect well on the Texas-Mexico chapter, just as the award itself pays honor to the contributions of Lois Swan Jones. Marty Stein, Meriann Bidgood, and John Hagood deliberated over a extraordinarily strong group of applicants. This year's award carries a stipend of $850. We hope that the chapter's pride in Mary's good work, and her standing as an officer will inspire us to fund an even greater sum toward the 2004 conference in New York. Congratulations to Mary, and thanks to all who contributed.
