ARLIS/NY Celine Palatsky Travel Award Announcement ARLIS/NY is pleased to offer its annual Celine Palatsky Travel Award to attend the ARLIS/NY 2003 Conference to be held in Baltimore March 20-26, 2003 . One award of $500. will be offered Qualifications to apply: You must be an ARLIS/NY and ARLIS/NA member. You must not have full institutional support. You must not be an ARLIS/NY Board member. You must not have won this award in the past 5 years Please send a resume and a letter of application with the following information: State your ARLIS interests and expected activities at the conference (as a speaker or committee member, for example). List the amount (or likely range) of institutional support it is believed you will receive based on past institutional practice and current circumstances. Include the name of your supervisor, a professional colleague, or a faculty member (if you are a student) as a reference. Include your address, phone number and e-mail address. Let us know if you would be a first time attendee. You must meet the postmarked deadline of Jan. 24, 2003. The Awards Chair will notify applicants of the travel committee's decision by Feb. 7, 2003 . Award winners are expected to write a brief report on their trip to the conference for the ARLIS/NY Newsletter Guidelines for selection: Financial (or anticipated financial) need. First time attendees are given preference. Participants in the ARLIS/NA conference are given preference. Students and working librarians are given equal preference. In January 2000, it was renamed the ARLIS/NY Celine Palatsky Memorial Travel Award, in memory of longtime ARLIS/NY member, Celine Palatsky, who died on December 16, 1999.
