The University of Alberta Library has a 2-day trial to L'annee philologique.
Some findings: Search results are in chronological order -- unfortunately,
with the earliest citations first. For Homer, as an example of a large
search set, this is over 5000 citations and endless paging forward to get to
the latest research. There is no capability of reversing the order of
citations. One can work around this by combining a search with a particular
date. Accordingly one would do a search on Homer in Ancient Authors, then a
date search in the Date index (latest searchable date is 2000, and be sure
to click to the left of "Year"), then click on Combine at the bottom of the
screen and combine the two -- q1 and q2. There is no e-mail feature;
downloading is not possible; copying and pasting into a word processing file
is possible but doesn't result in the "cleanest" document.
In summary, this database is not up to normal standards. (Any findings
