6-Month Temporary Position

The MassArt library is seeking applications for a full-time temporary
Technical Services Librarian with responsibility for planning,
implementation, and problem solving in all technical services areas.   Key
areas of responsibility include preparation for implementation of the
acquisitions module for a new integrated library system (Endeavor),
serials, mail services, catalog cleanup, and original cataloging.  
Secondary responsibilities include copy cataloging and materials
processing, participation in collection development, and minimal reference
service provision.    The Library is in the process of a system migration
from DRA to Endeavor, and this position will play a key role in that
transition for the technical services department.   

Minimum qualifications: MLS or equivalent, background in the visual arts
and/or advanced arts related degree preferred, minimum 1-2 years of
professional technical services experience in an art or academic library
setting desired, experience with integrated library systems (preferably
DRA and/or Endeavor), supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership
ability.   6-month temporary position to end with fiscal year on June 30,
2003.  Resume review will begin November 1, 2002 with the goal to fill the
position as soon as possible.
