VISUAL RESOURCES LIBRARIAN Trinity College Library invites applications for the position of Visual Resources Librarian. The visual resources collection serves the teaching and study needs of the Art History program as well as the visual information needs of other departments and programs. The collection contains about 206,000 slides and 9,000 digital images and is housed with the Art History program. Staffing includes a full-time paraprofessional, part-time project staff, and 8-10 student employees. The Visual Resources Librarian directs and participates in the development, cataloging, user services, and maintenance of the visual resources collection. Responsibilities also include general liaison activities to Fine Arts faculty; outreach to and collaboration with a broad range of faculty and staff on the use of visual information; advancement of digitization projects and new technologies; budget administration and supervision of unit staff. The position reports to the Head Librarian for Collections and Instruction. Qualifications: MLS degree (or equivalent) with an MA (preferred) or BA in Art History; 3-5 yearsı experience in managing active visual resources collections in both analog and digital formats; competency in online cataloging, database structures and digital imaging technologies; reading knowledge of foreign languages; and a record of participation in professional organizations.
