technician on campus here at Purdue. Thought it might be
of use to some.

Hi all,
I just wanted to pass this information along to anyone using Pioneer
DVD-R drives.  It seems some of the new high speed DVD-R disks can
potentially damage your drive by causing it to overheat.  The problem is

caused by a bug in the firmware and there is a patch available on
Pioneers web page.  You can find more information on drives affected and

how to download the firmware upgrade at the following web site.
