DIRECTOR OF LIBRARY PROGRAMS Director of Library Programs needed for the Institute of American Indian and Alaska Native Culture and Arts Development (IAIA), a small fine arts college expanding to four-year degree programs. IAIA is the only academic institution dedicated solely to the study and practice of the artistic and cultural traditions of all American Indians. Strong hands-on leadership needed to manage current and new challenges including readiness for expanded academic programs, increased use of technology to meet on-campus and distance student needs, archives and special collections development, and implementing plans for the new library that will be closely integrated with the campus and instructional programs. Responsible for planning, staff management, budget and finance, client services, access to resources, and library design. This position reports to the Dean of the Center for Fine Arts and Cultural Studies and serves on numerous committees. QUALIFICATIONS: MLS from an ALA-accredited program, supervisory and management experience, minimum of three post MLS years of related library and technology experience, Internet computer application skills, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. Prefer experience with a library building project, experience in the provision of library service to offsite clients and experience in working with archives and special collections.
