Dear Colleagues,
The council of Amsterdam has just decided that the new extension f the Stedelijk
Museum is not going to be built. For fourteen years now the museum and the city have
collaborated in these plans in which the extension, designed by Alvaro Siza, was a
major feature. Now all that will be possible is the restauration of the 19th century
building. This gets the museum and the library in big trouble, since the temporary
headquarters in an industrial zone are only suited for a residence of a few years.
Please vivit the protest site at www.supportstedelijk.tk and sign the protest letter.
Would you be so kind and notify curators and directors of your institution of this site
and possibilty also?
