I am requesting a scanner for public use in our branch library, and the main library administration has expressed concerns about library accountability for copyright violations by users of the scanner. I had assumed that a notice similar to the one we post on our copy machines should be sufficient. The ARLIS-L archive contains several postings about scanner equipment, but not much about copyright issues related to public scanners. Are most libraries posting a standard notice? Many thanks for your advice. Margaret Culbertson Head Librarian, William R.
