Error during command authentication.

Error - unable to initiate communication with LISTSERV (errno=10061, phase=CONNECT, target=127.0.0.1:2306). The server is probably not started. Hi all ARLIS-L subscribers!

Starting this month I plan on sending out tips for managing your subscription.  I'll only do these monthly (and please forgive me if I miss a month) since they may become redundant after a while.  Please also know that you can contact me at any time with questions about your subscription.  Thanks!

Tip of the month: changing your email address.
Whether you move to a new job, retire and want to stay with the list on your personal email account, or get a new server and your email changes, you can easily change your email address in your subscription WITHOUT signing off the old one and subscribing again with the new one.  The only catch is that you have to make the change FROM your OLD address.

NOTE: even minor changes in your server will change your email address slightly.  For example, my address changed from [log in to unmask] to [log in to unmask]  This minor change required a change in my subscription.

To do this:
From old email address:
1. send message to [log in to unmask]
2. leave subject line blank
3. Message should read:
        CHANGE ARLIS-L [new address]
(leave out the brackets when actually doing this and type your new email address)
4. be sure to delete any signatures, signature files, or other attachments.

If you run into problems you can always contact me, or if this doesn't work, then there might have been an earlier change in your email address that never got changed with the listserv, in which case I can help you with that as well.

Thanks and have a great September,
