The final report of the symposium "Art, Technology, and Intellectual
Property," held by the American Assembly of Columbia University on
February 7-10, 2002, is now available on the web at
http://www.americanassembly.org/ac/atip_na_main.htm
The very readable report, available there as a pdf file, provides an
excellent overview of recent issues, as well as important suggestions for
further disussion and research, such as the challenges presented by new
media to traditional and evolving business models; the possible usefulness
of more sophisticated and comprehensive copyright information portals; and
the possible applicability of the conservancy model to the IP public
domain.

Also available on the site are streaming video clips of the presentations
by Debora Spar, Professor, School of Business, Harvard University, and by
Lawrence Lessig, Professor, School of Business, Stanford University.
Other participants included Jeffrey Cunard, partner at the firm Debevoise
& Plimpton who has assisted CAA; David Green, Executive Director of NINCH;
Peter Jaszi, Washington College of Law, American University; and Jonathan
Tasini, President of the National Writers Union.
