Besides "short" the most useful answers to the question of Picasso's height
are so far as follows:

5' 3" per Pete Hamill, "Picasso: The Man" New York Magazine, May 12 1980.

5' 4" per
http://www.shortsupport.org/cgi/whowho_bio.cgi?seq=130&orderby=height&direct
ion=ASC, which cites Thomas T. Samaras, The Truth About Your Height (San
Diego: Tecolote, 1994). Found by Annette Haines (University of Michigan at
Ann Arbor).

Eumie Imm-Stroukoff (O'Keeffe Museum) recalls finding an answer in the Book
of Lists (any volunteers to look it up among those who have this book?)

5' 1" as an old man, per Gladys Markoff-Sotomayor (Columbia University),
recalling a brochure from the Picasso retrospective at MoMA in 1980
(couldn't confirm).

Thanks to all who responded.
