The Office of Visual Materials is an instructional resource of nearly 300,000 35mm slides documenting major works in the fields of African, Asian, European, and American art. The collection is heavily used by faculty and graduate students to present visual information in the classroom as well as for research. Main responsibilities of the position include cataloging new material added to the collection (about 10,000 slides per year) and supervision of slide production including 4-8 student employees. The position reports to the Chief Curator of the Office of Visual Materials. Required qualifications include a minimum of a bachelor degree in art or related field and the ability to read French, German, and Italian. Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree in art or art history and a graduate degree in library and information science.
