Need a
Friend? Be a Friend: The Art of Developing a Friends Group for a Special
Population Library
Libraries that
serve populations with special needs often have unique service delivery
challenges. These challenges can be met with the assistance of a Friends group.
By forming this special volunteer group libraries are able to participate in
more outreach in their local communities as well as provide more programs of
interest to their patrons. Come and learn how these Friends groups were
organized in their unique library environments. Hear discussions about how
libraries serving special populations can provide activities that a Friends
group could support.
