Recent discussion of artists files has been useful for me. I have a related
question.
Can art museum librarians comment on practices at your institution for
artist files, specifically for artists in represented in your collection.
Are these files in the library?
Does the exhibitions/registrars department also maintain a similar file?
Have you developed guidelines for what materials belong in the library, and
which belong in the exhibitions department?
