I have some questions regarding library practices in collecting local artist files. I have inherited files on local artists that probably have not been updated for ten years. I am interested in obtaining new artist information to add to the collection and eventually put a searchable artist file index on our library web page. 1. Do you actively recruit artist's information? If so, how? Newspaper clipping, go to gallery shows, etc. 2. Are there many public librarians out there that also maintain artist files? Thanks for the input! Elise Pincu Art Librarian Broward County Main Library 100 S. Andrews Ave. Ft.
