TEMPORARY CLOSING DUE TO CONSTRUCTION
Monday June 3 to Saturday June 8
Avery Library will be closed to the public from
Monday June 3 through Saturday June 8, 2002.
The Drawings and Archives Department will be open by appointment as
usual, please call (212) 854-4110 to make arrangements for access.
In order to ensure smoother and quieter operations during the remainder
of the summer, the Library will be closed for this one week during which
a series of extremely noisy and potentially dangerous work must be
completed for three University projects. These projects are: the
demolition of the west wall of the Fine Arts stacks for entrance to the
new Wallach Study Center, the erection of scaffolding on the North and
South side of the Library for the waterproofing of Avery plaza, and the
digging of a trench in the Periodicals stack for drainage pipe
replacement.
The staff will be available in the Library
during this time. If you absolutely need access during this week
