Reports Directly To Chief Administrative Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES
Librarianship
o Create a service oriented library and information center in the firm.
o Manage purchasing, cataloging, preparation and circulation of Library
materials.
o Manage applications and renewals of memberships and subscriptions.
o Stay abreast of latest developments in Library and Information field
through attendance at architectural librarian meetings and professional
continuing education classes.
Knowledge Management and Materials Acquisition
o Understand the firm's strategic goals and coordinate Library and
information resources to them.
o Select materials for firm use in collaboration with representatives of
Practice Groups and Director of Design.
o Monitor, organize, and analyze information about firm clients and their
interests and effectively communicate this to the firm.
o Provide collaborative leadership, and with the Archivist, the Manager
of the Information Technology Department and Users (Marketing Department,
Administrative Staff and Practice Groups), work to organize SBRA
databases and knowledge resources in the most transparent manner for ease
of use by the entire firm.
o Be acquainted with effective use of Web pages and Intranets as
communication tools in organizations.
Reference and Research
o Provide reference/research service using online databases, the
Internet, print materials and other resources to support the
architectural and business goals of the firm.
Firm Education
o Foster intellectual curiosity about the firm's clients, practice areas,
and historic legacy through lunch meetings, bibliographic instruction,
and collaborative work with Practice Groups.
REQUIREMENTS
Master of Science in Library Science
Knowledge of and interest in architecture, higher education, science, and
healthcare
Computer skills necessary to maintain library databases, provide internet
research
