[log in to unmask]">The Guerrila Girls came to our museum this month as
part of a teacher workshop to launch a new set of teaching posters the Education
department developed. The teaching
posters feature 5 women artists.
The Guerrila girls then gave a presentation in the auditorium. They performed a song (which was the world
premier of it), gave a short overview (with slides) of their history up to the
recent past, and spoke about the artists and posters a bit.
It was a very successful program, and attracted lots
of general audience besides the workshop participants. The historical overview of the GG’s was
great and fun to see. I would have liked hearing more hard data about how women
are faring in the visual arts now.
For ARLIS/NA, it might be interesting to build their visit around a
particular concept/program in a similar fashion to what they did here.

Ray Anne mentioned inviting the Guerrila Girls to an
ARLIS/NA conference.
Here's one of the reasons why we should consider
this:

I'd like to see what they would say about our
profession.
