Colleagues Working in Solo or Small Art Museum Libraries:

I have just sent out a survey to 31 art museum librarians on the solo
librarians discussion group list.  If you did NOT receive the survey and if
you are working at a small art museum library either as a solo librarian,
with or without staff, or with a very small staff, I would like to hear from
you so that I can include you in the survey which could, potentially, help
many other museum librarians who find themselves in similar
circumstances--circumstances for which few of us were prepared in library
school.  I plan to give credit to all who respond--unless you request
anonymity.

The information will be used as background research for 1) a presentation on
solo art museum libraries that will be part of a panel on solo art
librarianship (co-moderated by Eumie Imm-Stroukoff, Librarian, Georgia
O'Keeffe Museum and Paul Glassman, Director, N.Y. School of Interior Design
Library) at the ARLIS conference in St. Louis; and 2) a chapter on small art
museum libraries to be included in a special issue of the Journal of Library
Administration devoted entirely to art library administration, edited by
Terrie L. Wilson, Art Librarian, Michigan State U.
