Tori Ellison, Painter, Printmaker from Seattle, WA and Deborah
Artman, Writer from Woodstock,
NY
Tori is developing new work in WSW's intaglio studio and doing experimental
collaborative printmaking
with Deborah. Tori will present slides and Deborah will read selections
from her work.
March 4th, Monday, 5 PM
Marisol Limon Martinez, Painter from New York City
Marisol will create an artist's book at WSW and work with students
in WSW's art-in-education
program as part of a residency supported by the National Endowment
for the Arts. Her book project
involves material about her combined Mexican, German and Lebanese heritage.
Susan Amons, Printmaker from Kennebunk, ME.
Susan returns to WSW to work for a month in the etching studio where
she will continue developing
large-scale monoprints using stencil, ghost and other print techniques.
March 18th, Monday, 5 PM
Karen Capobianco, Sculptor from New Paltz, NY
Karen plans to complete a series of sculptural pieces using light and
natural materials. She will work in
WSW's papermaking studio for three weeks investigating paper on loofah,
straw, basket weaving, and
computer generated projections.
Susan Webster, Printmaker from Deer Isle, ME
Susan is returning to do more concentrated work in WSW's silkscreen
studio where she is developing
work using the gelatin print process.
April 29th, Monday, 5 PM
Linda Leslie Brown, Printmaker, media artist from Boston, MA
Linda will be working on a cycle of work in the printmaking studio
combining digital prints with
monotype and collage.
Anna McAllister, Papermaker from Hailey, ID
Anna will be using WSW's papermaking studio, darkroom and letterpress
to develop an artist's book
aimed at a pre-teenage audience.
May 13th, Monday, 5 PM
Laurie Riccadonna, Painter, Printmaker from Jersey City, NJ
Laurie will work in WSW's clay studio, carrying out what has so far
been a painter's interest in Spanish
and Islamic ornamentation, tile and architectural design into a ceramic
format.
Tracey Bey, printmaking from Montclair, NJ
Tracey intends to create a series of works that critique African American
stereotypes in the form of a
playful guide.
These two artists are in residence at WSW with support from The Geraldine
R. Dodge Foundation.
May 20th, Monday, 5 PM
Simeen Ishaque, Printmaker from McKinney, TX
Simeen is going to develop a body of work using WSW's darkroom, silkscreen
and clay studios based
on her experiences after relocating to the United States from her native
Pakistan.
Leslie Concannon, printmaker from Long Island City, NY
Leslie will make a series of monotypes using inscribed plexiglass plates
based on recent black and
white drawings.
June 3rd, Monday, 5 PM
D'Ann de Simone, Painter, Printmaker from East Lansing, MI
D'Ann will use WSW's etching and silkscreen studios to create a new
body of work reflecting the
underlying order and drama of the natural world.
Sarojini Jha Johnson, David Johnson, Printmakers from Muncie, IN
Sarojini and David will be in residence at WSW for one week to complete
the letterpress and binding
of an artist's book through a Summer Creative Arts Grant from Ball
State University.
