Because of reported difficulties with the PDF format of Update (and the
cost of creating the professionally laid out version which was mounted as a
PDF file and mailed to individual members who reported difficulty accessing
or printing the PDF version), the look of Update has been considerably
simplified. Jonathan Franklin has mounted a plain text version with live
links on the ARLIS/NA homepage http://www.arlisna.org/updatefeb2002.html
and I've sent a lightly-formated MicroSoft Word version to headquarters for
printing and mailing to those who had requested paper. Mailing is, of
course, also a significant expense, so if, having taken a look at the new
Web version, you decide you no longer need paper, please contact
