Well,
I think it's pretty sad that a professor would not know what librarians do,
but unfortunately I've enountered this before. That may actually be a big
part of the problem. When the educated people don't know what we do (and
therefore don't value it), it's a sad commentary. I don't really expect the
general public to know. I am surprised when they do, frankly.
