Greetings members of ARLIS/NA and VRA, As you finalize your last-minute preparations for the holiday season, please keep in mind that the 2002 ARLIS/NA - VRA Annual Conference will feature a Silent Auction on Saturday, March 23 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency Union Station in St. Louis. The Silent Auction promises to be a fun-filled, exciting event where you and your colleagues will mingle and strategize bidding over fantastic items created or donated by ARLIS/NA and VRA members, chapters, vendors, and friends. A cash cocktail bar will be provided, and all proceeds from the auction will be split between the ARLIS/NA Speakers' Fund and the VRA's Tansey and President's Funds. A festive prelude to our Conference Banquet and Keynote Speaker, this event should not be missed! The 2001 Silent Auction at the ARLIS/NA annual conference in Los Angeles raised over $9,000. With the joined memberships, the Silent Auction in St. Louis stands to generate even more revenue for these very important funds. In January please look for a message posted to the listservs and a link from the conference website detailing the donation process, which will include an online donation form and electronic gallery of Silent Auction items. The Silent Auction is generously supported by the Getty Research Institute. Thank you!
