The Smithsonian American Art Museum is pleased to announce
the publication of the Fall 2001 issue of American Art. This
handsome issue of the museum's academic journal (vol. 15,
no. 3) includes the following articles:

American Art is a peer-reviewed periodical published three
times per year, in March, July and November. Articles may
encompass any aspect of America's visual heritage,
including the fine arts, popular culture, photography and
electronic media, public art, architecture, and the
decorative arts. Authors interested in submitting
manuscripts for consideration are welcome to contact Cynthia

electronic edition of the new Fall issue will appear shortly
on americanart.si.edu/journal, where information is also
available on subscriptions, single-copy orders, and
