I was informed yesterday that because many of the victims of Tuesday's
tragedy are severely burned, they are going to need blood desperately in
November when the first surgeries will be possible. So please give now,
but don't forget to give again as soon as you can.
Also, as a regular platelet donor, I would like to encourage people with
patience to give platelets. The process takes a lot longer than blood
donation, but one donation of platelets can go much further than a pint of
whole blood.
