Geometr415 Blk BT Art and Design Librarian - University of Connecticut, Storrs Under the general direction of the Head of the Research and Information Services Area at the University of Connecticut Libraries, the incumbent is responsible for the Art and Design collections housed within the University's main library. The incumbent serves as the University Libraries' liaison to the Art and Art History Department and the William Benton Museum of Art, and as the Libraries' expert in visual imagery. As a member of an Area Team, the incumbent actively participates in developing research and information programs for the University community. Regular evening and weekend hours may be required. Qualifications Include: ALA accredited MLS; academic background in the field of art; strong motivation and enthusiasm for academic library reference work; experience with computer applications in libraries; the ability to work with diverse users and staff; excellent oral and written communication skills; and excellent instructional skills. Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree in art; success in academic liaison work; significant contributions to the profession; knowledge of one or more foreign languages(s); collection development experience; and supervisory experience.
