Broward County Library's

Bienes Center for the Literary Arts

is pleased to annouce the exhibition:

AlphaMark: An International Juried Calligraphy Exhibition,
March 19-April 30, 2001

The exhibit contains 72 pieces of fine art that incorporate written letter forms - words, letter strokes, characters - to bring a verbal message to a visual world. The pieces include book forms, ceramics and broadsides, and present a variety of visual interpretations of the calligrapher's mark, which becomes letter, alphabet, word and text.

The exhibit was created by the Association for the Calligraphic Arts, whose mission is to promote awareness and appreciation for the calligraphic and lettering arts through education and exchange of information and ideas.

The AlphaMark exhibition is underwritten by the Bienes Center for the Literary Arts, the South Florida Calligraphy Guild, Levenger's - Tools for Serious Readers and Writers, and individual members of the South Florida Calligraphy Guild.

A complimentary checklist of the exhibition is available upon request.
