You can get a list of qualified conservators for your area and conservation
needs from the American Institute of Conservation - 202-482-9545. The AIC
also provides information on what to expect when working with a conservator.
The Northeast Document Conservation Center also deals with this sort of
conservation work; their number is 978-470-1010.
Whatever the choice, it will most likely be quite costly to conserve the
scrapbook itself.
I thought the suggestion of having a preservation photocopy made was a very
practical one! All these vendors provide this service: Acme Bookbinding
(800-242-1821), Bridgeport National Bindery (800-223-5083) and Ocker &
Trapp (800-253-0262).
