The Reference and Information Services Section's annual meeting will take place on Monday, April 2, 2001 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. A short business meeting (20 minutes!) will be conducted before the special program being presented this year on the issues and development of virtual reference services and how it may effect art librarians. (see notice sent to ARLIS-L on March 12th, "The Virtual Reference Desk: Is It Here?") Therefore we would like to conduct as much business as possible before the meeting by email and OFF THE ARLIS/NA LISTSERV. Agendas items to be considered are: 1.) Election of officers for 2001-2002. We will be accepting nominations for Co-moderator and Update editor. You may wish to send in your nominations for Co-moderator and Update editor by email to Tom Greives (RISS Moderator) [log in to unmask] or Marta Neth (RISS Co-moderator) [log in to unmask] 2.) Session proposals and workshops for the 2002 conference in St. Louis. These proposals may also be sent to Tom or Marta. This year RISS is sponsoring: * Workshop #3 on Saturday, March 31, 2001 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45pm "They Never Covered This in Library School: Basic Resources in Costume. Art Direction, Film, and Artists Videos" <http://orpheus-1.ucsd.edu/csj/arlis2001/schedule/workshops/3.html> * Panel Session #3 on Sunday April 1, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon "Too Much of a Good Thing?" Selection, Collection Development, and Cataloging of Art/Design Web Sites" <http://orpheus-1.ucsd.edu/csj/arlis2001/schedule/sessions/3.html> * Panel Session #9 on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. "Classroom Odyssey: Teaching Adventures in the Art Library & Cyberspace" <http://orpheus-1.ucsd.edu/csj/arlis2001/schedule/sessions/9.html> * RISS Session on Monday, April 2, 2001 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. "The Virtual Reference Desk: Is it Here?" Old business and new business to be considered will be at the pleasure and interest of the membership. Please make your interest and concerns known as soon as possible and OFF THE ARLIS LISTSERV by contacting Tom Greives (RISS Moderator) [log in to unmask] or Marta Neth (RISS Co-moderator) [log in to unmask] Thank you! __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] Administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Kerri Scannell) at: [log in to unmask]
