Dear colleagues:

Do you own a copy of the following in your library?(:)

Andy Warhol's index (book) With the assistance of Stephen Shore [and
others] and particularly David Paul. Several photos. by Nat Finkelstein.
Factory fotos by Billy Name.
Imprint: New York, Random House, 1967.

If so, can you please check to see if your copy has a brown blob (somewhat
circular, about 2 inches in diameter) stuck between the inside back cover
and back flyleaf?

The blob exists in our copy and we're wondering if it's really part of the
book or if some clever reader felt like making their mark on Warhol's work.

Our book conservator thinks it may be bubblegum.

Any information on this bewitching blob will be highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Vanessa
