If the purpose of the handbook is to find someone, half the time you don't know their status anyway until you start flipping through the different indexes. Would it be feasible to have a People file and an Institution file? Could one interfile the 2-liner entries in "Individual Members - Indexed by Institution" with the list of Institutions? Then, similarly, the Contacts for institutional members (2-liner: Name, Institution) included with the Individual Members? One could indicate the status by adding a simple letter code beside the name or institution, for example "I" for Individual and "I" for Institutional member ;-) OK, maybe something a little more distinctive like "C" for Contact :-) ... Just a thought.
