This is a reminder that proposals are due *April 2, 2001* to be considered
for breakout session presentations at the Virtual Reference Desk 3rd
Annual Digital Reference Conference, "Setting Standards and Making it
Real," November 12-13, 2001 in Orlando, FL. The call for proposals is
available at <http://vrd.org/conferences/VRD2001/proposals.html>. Please
note that an online proposal submission form has been added for your
convenience.

I'd also like to draw your attention to our Student Paper Competition.
This contest is open to graduate students in the fields of library and
information science who are doing research in the area of Internet-based
reference service. The author of the best student paper will win one free
registration and free transportation to the VRD 2001 Annual Digital
