Dear NYC Colleagues: I am currently researching and editing (and writing a part of) a book on the art and architectural history of Calvary Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh. It was designed by Ralph Adams Cram and built from 1906-1907. The gorgeous stained glass windows in the church were done according to medieval techniques (discovered, by the way and never credited in writings, by a Pittsburgh glass master who was hired by J. H. Heinz to create glass for his food products). Many windows are by the London firm of Heaton, Butler, and Baynes; some by Charles Connick (Cram virtually created his career for him and that began at Calvary in Pgh). There is also a window by the NYC firm of Gorham and Co. I have found, with difficulty, SOME info on the London firm and muchb on Connick, but NOTHING on Gorham Stained Glass. Do any of you who know about stained glass or have collections on stained glass in America know of any information on this company? I, unfortunately, need it ASAP. Thanks, in advance, for any assistance you can provide me on this company. Ray Anne PS -- See you soon in LA!
