A.C.L. stands for 'Centrale Laboratoria en Iconografisch Archief voor het
Nationaal Kunstpatrimonium'. As a Belgian federal institution, it was set up
in 1946 by Paul Coremans, an internationally renowned art historian.
This institution still exists today under a new bilingual name: Institut
Royale du Patrimoine Artistique / Koninklijk Instituut voor het
Kunstpatrimonium (http://www.kikirpa.be). Their adres: Jubelpark 1 / B-1000
Brussels.
They celebrated a few years ago their 50th anniversary. Just recently, a
special bulletin to mark this occasion has been published. It also contains
a seperate report on the history of A.C.L. (no ISBN or ISSN number
available).
