     The Bard Graduate Center seeks a Reader Services Librarian.

     The Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts, Design,
     and Culture - a graduate school of Bard College - offers MA
     and Ph. D. programs. Courses address various aspects of the decorative
     arts, design, and cultural history throughout the world. Visit

     The library collection comprises approximately 33,000 volumes of
     monographs, rare books, and bound periodicals.  The library subscribes
     to 180 periodicals. The staff works closely together to achieve its
     common goals.  It is made up of 3 professionals, 1 library assistant,
     and student employees. This position reports to the Chief Librarian.

     Position Summary:
     The successful candidate will focus on reference and instructional
     interaction with students, faculty, and staff including development
     and maintenance of electronic research tools in relevant subject
     areas.  Also responsible for periodical and auction catalog
     collections including collection development, acquisition, claiming,
     and overseeing binding.  Will be expected to have a variety of
     responsibilities as required due to the library's small staff size
     including processing ILLs, gifts, and special projects.

     Qualifications:
     ALA accredited MLS; previous experience with periodicals a plus. A
     background in art history or art library experience is desired or a
     demonstrated strong interest in decorative arts and material culture.

     position filled.  Salary range is $35,000-$40,000 depending on
