Curator of Multimedia Collections and Coordinator of Reader Services

Working in a team environment, the Curator of Multimedia
Collections/Coordinator of Reader Services performs curatorial and
functional duties in support of
Archives and Special Collections programs. The Coordinator works in close
cooperation with other Curators, and the Area Head to plan and establish
area goals
and to ensure that established collection and public service goals are met.
Photographic and audio collections are the Curator's primary curatorial
responsibility,
while also being responsible for reader services in Archives and Special
Collections. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required. The

Required Qualifications: An ALA accredited MLS degree in library and
information science; a minimum of 1 year of experience working with the
public in an
academic library or archives; supervisory experience; experience managing a
budget; excellent interpersonal, communication and computer skills;
demonstrated
ability to work independently, identify problems, implement revisions and
changes to policies, and create and implement new policies; and, experience
with
multimedia materials and collections. Preferred: Graduate degree or subject
knowledge of photography, music or other specialized format; knowledge of
audio,
video and data storage media and digital multimedia file formats; experience
working with undergraduate and graduate students; technical knowledge of
photographic, audio and video preservation; experience with digitizing,
cataloging and use of multimedia materials for researchers in an electronic
environment; 1-2
years experience in an academic research library; and experience working in
a team environment.

Compensation and Benefits: Hiring range $37,000 - $50,726. University
benefits include 22 paid vacation days/year, 12 paid State holidays,
