Wednesday, November 15, 6 pm

Exhibition cocurator JENNA WEBSTER, Curatorial Assistant,
Department of Photography, Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University,
will consider how Ben Shahn's interest in popular imagery--including
photography, newspapers, film, and comics--during the 1930s
influenced his broader thinking and aesthetics.

Offered in conjunction with the exhibition BEN SHAHN'S NEW YORK: THE
PHOTOGRAPHY OF MODERN TIMES, on view at the Grey Art Gallery, New
York University, 100 Washington Square East, from November 14, 2000,
through January 27, 2001.
