We are in the early, early planning stages of building a new library. I am

What are your thoughts on the amount of electronic vs. text information.
Everyone seems to be going towards electronic these days, but I wonder how
wise that is for an art (mainly sculpture) library.

What I am trying to get a handle on is space needs.

There's an interesting article in the current issue of College and Research Libraries:
Wiberley, Stephen e., Jr. and William g. Jones
Time and technology; a decade-long look at humanists' use of electronic information technology
vol 61 no 5 (Sept 2000) pp 421-431.

Mostly the article talks abaout what time factors influence how amenable faculty are to adopting technology. From the second to last paragraph:
"...any library that supports humanists must give priority to its paper sources."
