Title: Sr. Electronic Technician (Database developer and technical
support)

Department: Visual Resources Collection, Dept. of Art History and

Description:  Reporting to the Curator of the Visual Resource
Collection, the
incumbent provides technical support for the Visual Resources
Collection; develops database for the VRC; a searchable, relational
database consisting of textual records for each image and a graphical
component for selected images, to be determined in accordance with
faculty needs; develops electronic structure of authority files for
reference and cataloging purposes; creates electronic inventories for
collection; provides collection documentation, reports and statistics
periodically as required; provides technical support to departmental
faculty and staff in the area of computer hardware and software; trains
staff and student workers in use and maintenance of databases;
performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field
preferred; two years
experience with databases preferred, two years of technical support
preferred. Experience in CGI and C programming language preferred.
Experience with FileMaker Pro preferred; experience in visual resource
collection, library, or museum preferred; excellent oral and written
communtion skills, and attention to detail required.
